Those Taste As You Go readers who follow me on Twitter and/or are fans on Facebook have been seeing me make cryptic references to my next big opportunity as a food blogger over the past couple of weeks. While it's not quite time to announce the news just yet, I thought it would be fun to offer you guys a hint.

Now that the days of summer have all but disappeared into the distance, it's time to shift gears and focus on the fall. Cooler temperatures, the beginning of football season (although, I am still heavily invested in baseball season right now), and the preparation of comforting dishes that are full of fall flavors. It's the time when dishes featuring pumpkin and butternut squash can be found on practically every menu. And it's the time when at least one dessert showcases the pear.
