As the weather warms up here in New England, it's the perfect time to give your wardrobe a little spring refresh. After months of layering up, our favorite basics—like tee shirts and tank tops —can start to show signs of wear. Whether it's stretched-out necklines, faded colors, or mystery stains that just won't budget, spring is the ideal season to replace those go-to pieces. As moms, we're so focused on taking care of everyone else that it's easy to overlook our own needs. But something as simple as replacing a few well-loved pieces can be a form of self-care —reminding us that we deserve to feel comfortable, confident, and put-together, too. Retrieving the pomegranate arils from a fresh pomegranate is surprisingly easy and totally worth the effort. Check out my How To: Seed a Pomegranate post for a tutorial.

Pomegranate Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

While eating pomegranate arils all on their own is perfectly fine, I love baking them into these Pomegranate Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. Don't the red seeds and white chocolate chips remind you of the colors of Christmas? Try these for your holiday cookie swap this year!

Maybe you'd rather use the pomegranate arils in a salad. For a seasonal dish that highlights several fall ingredients, check out this Apple and Pomegranate Brussels Sprout Salad.

Perhaps you'd like to feature the pomegranate on your Thanksgiving table. Try this Smoke-Roasted Turkey Breast with Thyme Glaze in place of the more traditional whole roast turkey and serve these Carrots with Pomegranate Glaze on the side.

If you're after a unique breakfast or brunch treat, you could always try my Pomegranate Vanilla Scones with Pomegranate Whipped Cream. The pomegranate flavor here comes from pomegranate liqueur.

Now we're talkin', right?

That brings me to my next point. If you're looking to drink your pomegranate rather than eat your pomegranate, then try this Pomegranate Fizz or Jefferson's Crimson. Perfect for your next party, I'd say!

Fiery Pomegranate Sauce

Last, but not least, I want to share my favorite pomegranate recipe, and one of the most popular posts on Taste As You Go. If you like sauces with a spicy kick, then my Fiery Pomegranate Sauce is for you. Stephen and I have tried this on everything -- grilled steak, chicken wings (TRUST US), vegetables, fish, Bacon-Wrapped Brussels Sprouts -- and have yet to discover something the sauce doesn't go well with.

It's a beautiful thing.
