Given all of the work on my plate right now (article deadlines galore!), I'm surprised I allowed myself to slow down long enough to get out of the house and have some fun with good friends. But I'm glad I ignored the nagging voice inside my head that was chastising me for not spending the entire weekend chained to my desk.
If I hadn't pushed work aside, then I would have missed trying the new Ethiopian restaurant in the Lehigh Valley (review coming!), outlining Sharknado spin-off movies over drinks, and celebrating milestone birthdays with grilled burgers and s'mores.
All very good reasons to let my work sit until today. And with today being Sunday, one of the things on the top of my to-do list is sharing our Menu Plan for the week. You'll probably figure it out really quickly that I've been craving comfort lately. Must be the impending arrival of early fall.
Menu Plan: August 11 - August 17, 2013
Sunday: Dinner at Musikfest -- The festival ends today, so we're going to get our fill of fair food and beer and, hopefully, stick around for the fireworks.
Monday: Rapini with Caramelized Onions and Creamy Polenta from The Leafy Greens Cookbook
Tuesday: Italian Sausage and White Bean Stew
Wednesday: Stephen's Choice
Thursday: Ground Turkey Taco Night
Friday: Pizza with Fresh Mozzarella and Basil
Saturday: Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes
