Ahhhh...  November.  I have been waiting for you (and all that you bring) for months . Specifically, I have been counting down to that glorious day spent with family and loved ones around a long table packed to the gills with platters and bowls of comfort food and happy memories. Of course, I'm talking about Thanksgiving. This year, we're spending the holiday with my family in Connecticut and I. Cannot. Wait. You better believe I'm going to use my pregnancy as an excuse to eat three full plates of food plus  five slices of whatever we've got going on at the dessert end of the meal! I don't know how I did it, you guys, but April turned out to be one of the most productive blogging months I've had in a long time. I thought I'd have to take a step back from blogging as I got used to life with a newborn, but taking care of Caroline has motivated me to blog more regularly.

Even though I love spending time with the baby and watching her grow (way too quickly, if you ask me), it's extremely important to me that I make time to write. Writing allows me to create and to sort out the thoughts that are trapped inside my head. Writing also allows me to share those thoughts and to connect with others at a time that can often feel very isolating. (Yes, it is work getting out of the house with a newborn.)

At first, it felt selfish to me to continue devoting time to Taste As You Go, but I finally realized that doing so makes me happier and more complete. And when I'm happier and more complete, I'm a better person overall and a better mother for Caroline.

With all of that said, finding time to write today was hard. Caroline did not want to be put down. I was *this* close to scrapping the idea of sharing this week's menu plan with you because I had a really difficult time focusing through her crying. (And I felt guilty about trying to write when I should have been trying to calm her down for the umpteenth time.)

She finally went down for a nap about 45 minutes ago, leaving me a small window of time to stick to my blogging schedule, even if it means publishing the post much later than I originally intended. So... if you're curious to see what's on deck for dinner for us this week, then keep reading!
