What's for Dinner: October 4 - October 10

Picking Apples at the Orchard | Taste As You Go

I've noticed a trend in my writing lately. In recent posts, I talk about how tired I am. How I'm stretched thin. How I'm overwhelmed by trying to balance it all.

Over the past few days, I've allowed myself to slow down. There were two nights this past week that I let myself go to sleep around 9 p.m. And this weekend? I got out of the house.

On Saturday, I went out with our 5yo so she could have a playdate with a new friend from kindergarten. Then, this morning, we met up with my parents for some traditional fall fun

Sure, everything felt a little different because we were wearing masks... and being careful about leaving ample space between us and other people. But this is the most "normal" I've felt in a long time. And my spirits are higher because I ignored my to-do lists. I did things I wanted to do and I got to focus on the family.

What a difference that made!

My head is clearer and I'm ready to tackle the Sunday evening tasks and to get ready for the week ahead. Before I head into the kitchen to make dinner, here's what I've planned for dinner at our house this week!
