Sharing our Menu Plan for July 12 - July 18, 2015
I don't know who first suggested that new parents should "sleep when the baby sleeps", but I have yet to be able to pull that off.
Sleep when the baby sleeps? No way!
When the baby sleeps is when I get everything else done -- like doing laundry or spending quality time with the dog or quickly catching up with friends over all-too-short phone dates or... well... remembering to eat something.
When Caroline naps, I'm off and running... being the most productive and efficient I've ever been in my entire life. That's when I can concentrate on something other than the baby... so I don't push myself down a shame spiral while she's awake because I'm thinking about all the things I haven't done yet rather than fully engaging with her during tummy time or encouraging her as she learns new skills or simply enjoying the quiet time when she's in my arms.
Since I'm writing, you may have deduced that Caroline is napping. My fingers are flying across the keyboard and I'm trying to set a personal record for how quickly I can publish a new blog post. Before she wakes up, here's our menu plan for the week (and a quick reminder to enter my latest giveaway)!

Monday: Pasta Salad with Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Carrots, Bell Peppers, and Broccoli
Tuesday: BLT Sandwiches with Mom's Potato Salad
Wednesday: Monterrey Chicken Skillet from Budget Bytes
Thursday: Stephen's Choice
Friday: Pizza with Spinach and Grilled Eggplant
Saturday: Caprese Salad with Toasted Baguette Slices
