Last Valentine's Day -- our last before we became parents -- it was all about dressing for comfort for me. We managed to go out for dinner to celebrate, but I wore an outfit of neutrals that allowed room for my baby bump rather than one of traditional Valentine's Day colors that made me feel attractive.
In fact, the last time I wore a red dress, I was 34 weeks pregnant and at my baby shower with family and friends in Connecticut. It was one week after Valentine's Day and just 16 days before Caroline was born. I thought I looked huge in the dress, but it fit and the wrap design let me add a little bit of definition, so I went with it.
This year, Valentine's Day is going to be a low-key affair. I originally planned to make dinner, but I wouldn't be surprised if I tried to convince Stephen that we should order take-out instead. Take-out that we can eat on the couch in our pajamas.
Maybe we'll plan for a babysitter next year so we can get all dressed up to go out. To give myself a head start in choosing the perfect outfit, I spent some time browsing online for dress inspiration and have put together this round-up of 12 Dresses for Valentine's Day.
