60 Ultimate Cookie Exchange Recipes {and When It's Time to End It}

If you're looking for a winning recipe for your holiday cookie swaps, then scroll through this round-up  of 60 Ultimate Cookie Exchange Recipes on Taste As You Go!   Do you ever get That Feeling in your gut when you realize that what once brought you happiness now fills you with dread? You know the one... It's That Same Feeling that causes you to ask yourself repeatedly " Why am I doing this again?" I've been trying to battle that super persistent feeling for the past few weeks by giving myself little pep talks: "Don't give up now. You DO want to do this!"  "Don't you remember how much you used to love doing this? Just keep going!" " Do it one more time and you'll see -- everything will be fine. You'll feel much better once you get it over with." But no matter how many times I tried to get excited about it, I found a reason to avoid doing it. (Thank you, Caroline.) That's when I knew it was time to e...

What's for Dinner: September 25 - October 1

I set a pretty ambitious goal for myself in the kitchen today. Once our weekly grocery order arrived, I was going to make tonight's dinner as well as Tuesday's.

Plus I wanted to get Monday's dinner most of the way there. That way, all I'd have left to do is blend the soup and heat it up while the kids were doing their homework.

It sounded like such a brilliant plan... and I felt really proud of myself that I had accomplished so much. That is... until I discovered Tuesday's dinner had turned into an inedible mush after a few hours in the slow cooker.

Because I hate wasting food, I tried to figure out if I could save it... but it was hopeless. I had to leave the room while my husband scraped it all into the trash.

It goes to show you that, sometimes, things don't go according to plan. It's frustrating, but I do have some alternative ideas in mind... including picking up take-out instead of making something else from scratch.

We'll just have to see how we all feel by Tuesday night. If you're curious about what's on this week's menu plan, keep reading!

  • Tuesday: Take-Out

    I originally intended to make this slow cooker jambalaya for dinner. It's really too bad that it turned out horribly... Because it smelled good while it was cooking!

  • Thursday: Leftovers

    If we wind up with zero leftovers, then the kids and I will probably have breakfast for dinner.

  • Friday: Margherita Pizza

    When I created this week's menu plan, the whole family going to be home for Pizza Night. But a work trip popped up on my husband's calendar, so now he'll be out of town. The kids and I usually have frozen pizza when he travels, but I didn't plan for that... so we're going to go ahead and make the Margherita pizza.

    Or we'll pick up a pie on the way home from work/school. 😉
