Typically, our family waits until after Thanksgiving to put up our Christmas decorations. But when King of Christmas reached out to me in June about a potential partnership, I couldn’t resist the chance to showcase their stunning selection of artificial Christmas trees , wreaths, and garlands .  I was excited to get an early start on making our home holiday-ready this year!

So our daughter went back to school this week after a month-long Winter Break. With that much time off, I worried she'd have a hard time getting back into the school groove. And, as predicted, we had a rough readjustment period.

Getting her out of bed on time was next to impossible. Not that we could blame her... Even we had a hard time abandoning the cozy warmth of our bed. But while I seemed to operate in double-time to make sure we didn't wind up leaving late... she operated in slow-motion.

Get dressed. Eat breakfast. Clear dishes. Brush teeth. Pick out a mask. Do hair. Put on shoes. Pack backpack. Grab a hat and gloves. Get in the car.

I get it. When you're sleepy and not entirely convinced that you want to go out in the cold let alone to school... a to-do that long can be daunting. But we'll get the hang of it. I just hope that'll happen before the last week of the term!

All I know is we're all pretty happy that we have a couple of home days ahead of us so we can regroup. While we do that, here's a new batch of Tidbits for you to read when you find time this weekend... Enjoy!

  1. In case you missed it, I recently shared my theme (and goals) for 2021.

  2. One of those goals is to read 12 books this year. Here's the first book I added to my "read" list.

  3. If you're looking for something new to watch, then do yourself a favor and watch this one.

  4. Shoe sales are dangerous. Especially when they'll just ship you your new shoes... no questions asked. (If you're a new customer, then you can use my referral code to receive $20 off your purchase.)

  5. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I post a list of the things I'm grateful for each day. This app makes it super simple to do.

  6. Thanks to my favorite Christmas present and a couple of these, I finally got started on my pantry organization project.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I hope you can find some time for yourself to do something that fills your cup and makes you happy!
