2021 Holiday Gift Guide

Holiday Gift Guide | Taste As You Go

I was provided samples of the Cutluxe knives and the MeatStick Mini at no cost to me. I did not accept monetary compensation for writing about these products or about my experiences while using them. I intended to share this year's Holiday Gift Guide last week. With supply chain issues and potential delivery delays affecting retail outlets everywhere... I wanted to share the guide earlier rather than later.

But then I ran into some setbacks. Getting my COVID-19 vaccine booster and my flu shot within a few days of each other zapped my energy. And, if I'm being honest, I lacked the motivation to work my way through it.

The mental load I've been carrying has been heavy lately. I've been so focused on juggling everything on my plate... and I knew I couldn't add one more thing without the risk of dropping something.

So I showed myself grace and gave myself permission to push this post back a week. There's still plenty of time to do some serious holiday shopping. With some planning, you may even be able to take advantage of some Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

If you're looking for some gift ideas, then I hope you'll check out this year's Holiday Gift Guide. And since last year's guide was so well-received... I'm, again, including items that aren't strictly related to food or cooking.

There are a lot of great ideas in here, so I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding inspiration for everyone on your list this year!

Holiday Gift Guide - Gifts for the Kitchen | Taste As You Go

Gifts for the Kitchen

  • Vitamix Professional-Grade Blender | $449.95

I've been meaning to upgrade our blender for a long time. The last time I used our current blender, you could tell that the motor wanted to just give up. This particular blender is definitely a splurge item. If you're looking for something a little more affordable, then you might want to consider this model, too.

  • Dot and Army Bread Bag and Bowl Cover Set | $28

As someone who has been finding more and more ways for our family to live green, I can't recommend linen bowl covers enough. Using the linen covers means I'm using little to no plastic wrap, and I love that I can just throw them in the wash when they're dirty to reuse down the road.

I've linked to a bowl cover set that also comes with a bag that's great for short-term bread storage. But if you just want the bowl covers, this set is super cute

  • Cutluxe 8" Chef Knife | $39.99

One of the most important tools you can have in your kitchen is a chef's knife. But so often people feel they need to choose between quality and affordability. This chef's knife from Cutluxe eliminates the need to choose by providing quality and a super reasonable price point.

I'll be sharing a more detailed review about this knife, as well as Cutluxe's 7" Santoku knife and their 3.5" paring knife, so stay tuned!

  • USA Pan Nonstick 6-Piece Essential Bakeware Set | $99.95

I've loved every USA Pan product that has made its way into our kitchen. This set of essentials would be a great gift for anyone looking to upgrade their bakeware this year.

  • Williams Sonoma Open Kitchen Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls | $39.95

Speaking of kitchen essentials, you really can't go wrong with a set of stainless steel mixing bowls. You'll use them for everything from baking to serving salads to holding all the buttered popcorn on Movie Night.

Holiday Gift Guide - Gifts for the Kids | Taste As You Go

Gifts for the Kids

  • America's Test Kitchen Preschool Chefs' Club Monthly Boxes | $15.99-$19.99 / month

One of our son's favorite things to do is flip through my cookbooks. I know he's just itching to help me more in the kitchen, so something like this would be perfect for his curious little mind.

Of course, I'm sure his big sister will be just as curious, so there's a subscription box for Young Chefs, too.

  • KAI My First Knife | $19.95

Speaking out of daughter, her knife skills are stronger after having used these knives to help chop fruit and vegetables. It may be time to help her upgrade to the next level.

  • Felt Food Pancake Set | $23 and Melissa & Doug Slice and Toss Salad Play Food Set | $20.19

Even though the kids stopped playing with their play kitchen a while ago, they still cook up a storm with their play food sets. I don't think they'd be too upset if some new sets showed up on Christmas morning.

I linked to the felt pancake set above, but I'm kinda obsessed with all the sets in this Etsy shop!

  • Dash Express Mini Donut Maker | $19.99

I could totally see us making Sunday morning donuts a new tradition with this donut maker. The only question would be which type of donut to make first.

  • Kalamata's Kitchen Book + Spicewalla | $45

Reading is a favorite pastime for everyone in the family, and reading books is one of our favorite ways of introducing new cultures and ideas to the kids. What better way to talk about different cuisines than with a book that encourages kids to have an open mind about new flavors?

This particular book comes with a set of spices based on the recipe in the story. Love it!

Holiday Gift Guide Stocking Stuffers | Taste As You Go

Stocking Stuffers

  • OXO Apple Corer | $10.95

Absolutely necessary? No. But it does make the task of cutting apples go a bit faster!

  • Norpro Wooden Citrus Reamer | $6.01

If you cook with citrus a lot and you don't have a citrus reamer, then I highly recommend picking one up! For me, it's so much easier to use than a manual citrus juicer like this one.

  • The Red Owl Warm and Cozy Metal Wine Tumbler | $16.99

Admittedly, I may have been late to the metal wine tumbler game... but I love the tumblers we have at home. This particular tumbler is such a festive red and absolutely perfect for the holiday season!

  • MeatStick Mini | $69.99

Do any of the people on your list love cooking gadgets? Then look into this one for their stocking this year!

This smart, wireless meat thermometer is small, making it ideal for monitoring the internal temperature of any cut of meat. It's high heat-resistant, which means it can stand up to grilling, smoking, deep-frying, and sous-vide... and you can monitor everything using their mobile app.

  • GoSili® 8" Silicone Straw with Travel Case | $2.99

In this day in age, it's a good idea to keep a reusable straw in your bag at all times... especially if you're a fan of iced drinks from your favorite coffee shop.
