Dear readers,
This post has been sitting in my drafts for a while, but I've needed more time to find the right words. But today, I'm ripping off the band-aid and sharing some exciting news.
For the past 15 years, Taste As You Go has been a space to share my passion for food and cooking. I've loved connecting with fellow foodies and sharing recipes (and the stories behind them) with you. However, as life has evolved, so have my priorities and interests.
As many of you know, I'm a proud mom of two school-aged children. But I also have other roles outside of motherhood. I'm pursuing a career and serving as a national volunteer for an organization that's very dear to me... all while juggling the joys and challenges of being a parent. Balancing work, family, and personal interests can be a delicate dance -- especially as a mother.
I want my blog to reflect the journey I'm on right now rather than the one I started in 2008.
With that in mind, I'm shifting the focus of Taste As You Go. While food will always be a part of this blog, it won't be at the heart of it anymore. Over time, there will be fewer recipes and posts about my culinary experiences. Instead, I'll share more about my life as a working mom. You'll see posts about parenting, the things I'm doing to create our forever home, ways I find joy in life's every day moments... and so much more!
Haven't you told us this before?
If you're wondering whether you've heard this line from me before, you have. I've attempted to make this shift many times but have always gotten in my own way. Instead of embracing the change with enthusiasm, I overwhelmed myself. I worried about rebranding and found myself overthinking every aspect of that process.
I was so focused on the "Taste" part of this blog that I completely ignored the "As You Go" part.
It's time to stop worrying about conventional blogging rules. It's time to stop obsessing over branding, niche limitations, or aesthetic concerns. It's time to move forward.
I hope this change resonates with those of you who are also balancing the demands of work and family. And I hope you view this community that we're building as a supportive one.
Embarking in this new direction has energized me... and I'm excited to have the opportunity to connect with you in this new way. Thank you so much for your continued support -- I can't wait to embrace this change and share new content with you soon!
In gratitude,
Michelle
