Typically, our family waits until after Thanksgiving to put up our Christmas decorations. But when King of Christmas reached out to me in June about a potential partnership, I couldn’t resist the chance to showcase their stunning selection of artificial Christmas trees , wreaths, and garlands .  I was excited to get an early start on making our home holiday-ready this year!

As we turn the corner toward a new year, I want to thank you for continuing to support this blog. I didn't produce the content I wanted to this year, but you still showed up... you still engaged. And I'm so grateful that you did.

I hope you and your family have a happy and healthy new year, and I'll see you in 2024!

For now, here's our menu plan for the week ahead!

A Week of Dinners: December 31 - January 6

  • SundayRoasted Butternut Squash Soup with Homemade Croutons

We were invited to our neighbors' annual kid-friendly New Year's Eve party and were instructed to bring "something [our] kids like to eat for the potluck dinner." I consulted the kids, and they were both very enthusiastic about us bringing this soup.

  • Monday: Spaghetti and Marinara Sauce

  • TuesdayTaco Soup with Tortilla Chips

  • Wednesday: Buffet Night

  • Thursday: Stephen's Choice

In our house, Thursdays are known as "Stephen's Choice" nights when it comes to dinner. Someone recently asked me whether that meant my husband had his choice of any meal for me to cook.

    Um... no.

If you see "Stephen's Choice" on the menu plan, then that means it's his night to cook or pick up takeout. 😉

  • Friday: Chicken Fingers and Tater Tots

My husband and I have plans to go out, so the kids will be enjoying an easy-to-prepare dinner with a babysitter.

  • SaturdayItalian Sausage and White Bean Stew
