What's for Dinner: November 22 - November 28

It seems strange to say this, but I'm on Thanksgiving Recess. In years past, I've worked at least one or two days leading up to Thanksgiving. But not this year. Our kindergartner is off this entire week, so I planned my time off around her school schedule. That means I started turning off the "work" part of my brain on Friday afternoon.

Knowing the kind of time I had to play with, I've made deliberate choices about how to spend my time. I put my well-being front and center, starting with a hair appointment after work on Friday. I let myself sleep as long as possible in the morning and napped when I wanted to.

On Saturday, I paved the way to rekindling a hobby and took the night off from cooking. Then, earlier today, I pushed myself to complete a virtual Turkey Trot... and I connected with my mentor over Zoom.

Every single thing I've done this weekend has helped me. Especially after a trying week at work. I'm not so tense in my shoulders now, and I'm feeling less anxious... I'm definitely in a better place to enjoy my time off.

So while this week's menu plan post may seem late, it's coming to you at exactly the right time. 😘 If you're curious to see what's on the plan -- including what I'm planning on making for Thanksgiving dinner -- keep reading!
